A Guide to the Wearing & Care of Latex

Latex is a special material which needs some care to keep it at its best.
The following may seem like quite a lot of bother but if you compare it to the likes of looking after delicate laces or woolens then it isn't too dissimiliar.
The amount of compliments and pleasure you will receive from wearing latex will far outweigh the time it takes to look after it.

WEARING
Dust yourself or the inside of the garment in a light coat of talcum powder (you don't need to use too much- you're not preparing a pie for the oven!)

Before putting on your latex remove any sharp jewellery and beware of long or sharp nails.

Do not allow your garment to come in to contact with nickel or copper based metals- these will stain your latex clothes. Be aware of things like jewllery (including body jewellery) and coins.

If you are wearing pale colours be aware there may be a problem of staining if wearing perfume on your body, body make-ups and fake tan.

If you are wearing items which are more tricky to get on like tight trousers or stockings, you cold wear some gloves to pull them on to help prevent tears.

POLISHING & GLOSSY FINISH
We polish our clothes before they are posted. Polish gives the clothes a sheen and protects them.

When you are wearing your latex you can either polish your garment again with a soft cloth like a J-cloth or spray it with silicone spray. Silicone spray is how latex clothes get their super shiny look like in our photos or in magazines.
Be careful when using silicone spray not to spray yourself on a shiny floor or it will make the floor super slippery and cause accidents. Also don't spray it underneath a smoke alarm (or you might set them off  and cause a mass evacuation of a huge building like we have done in the past- OOPS!)
We sell the appropriate polishes and silicone spray suitable for latex clothes.


CLEANING & STORAGE
Handwash your garment in mild washing up liquid then rinse.
DO NOT put it in to a washing machine, dry clean, iron or tumble dry.
If your garment has thread tassels on it do not immerse in water but instead wipe clean with a soft wet cloth and mild washing up liquid.
Your garment may gain a 'milky' sheen when wet. Don't worry about htis- it will revert back to normal when it is dry.

To dry, lay flat on a towel or hang unwrinkled on a plastic or wooden coat hanger. Do not use a metal coat-hanger- avoid contact with metals when wet. You will also need to turn garment inside out to dry the inside.

When dry, lightly dust the inside with talcum. You can either dust the outside with talcum or polish it.

Try to take a note of how we wrapped the garment when we posted it. It will be wrapped in a clear plastic clothes bag and sometimes wrapped in tissue paper. The metal fastenings will not be in contact with pale latex. It would be good to either store the garment in the same way or hang it in a dark closet.

For pale colours- If your clothing has metal fastenings (buckles, eyelets, etc) cover these in tissue paper so they do not touch the rest of the garment.

Store in a dark place. Exposure to sunlight will discolour the material and can weaken it.

Store latex colours separately.

REPAIRS & ALTERATIONS
If your Anatomic Bomb! garment has been damaged  or does not fit any more we can do repairs and alterations for a fee.
The customer will pay for postage to us and back to themselves.
